Visitor Parking

Overview

  • Effective Aug. 3, 2020, all university community members will need to display a parking permit, utilize the ParkMobile apppay the daily charge, or pay using an hourly meter to park on the Blacksburg campus unless otherwise noted by signage. Please review your parking options below.
  • Visitors may park in any Faculty/Staff (F/S), Visitor, or Student (R/C/G) parking space with a valid Visitor parking permit if the space is not restricted by signs. Contact Parking Services (parking@vt.edu) to request a permit in advance.
  • Visitors are recommended to park in the Faculty/Staff section of Perry Street Lot, Litton Reaves Lot, Coliseum Lot, Derring Lot, Perry Street Parking Garage, Washington Street, and the Litton-Reaves Extension Lot
  • Metered parking spaces are also available for short-term visitors on campus.  However, visitor permits are not valid for free parking at meters. Meter locations include:
    • Bookstore Lot (Kent Street)
    • Squires Student Center
    • Coliseum Lot
    • Perry Street
    • Drillfield
    • Wright House
  • For all university community members, permits or payment of the daily/hour charge is required to park on campus from 7 a.m. - 10 p.m., Monday - Friday. 
  • For all large events on campus all departments should work with Parking Services to coordinate requirements. The special events coordinator will work with you to determine the best arrangements for your group, and help you coordinate your communications to your participants.
  • University policy requires a valid permit to park at any parking spot, regardless of the owner’s purpose or length of stay.
  • Permits are also required for all vendor/business/contractor vehicles that park on campus.
